April 13, 2018 -

Weekly club meeting with a speaker.
Greg Bancroft states that his love for baseball was forged during summertime pickup games, growing up in a small town in Minnesota. Now, he shares his passion for the mythology, spirituality and emotional journeys of our national pastime with family and friends across the country. "Swing for the Fences" is his second book. His first is "Betsy's Day at the Game," a Mom's Choice (gold) Award-winning children's book illustrated by Katherine Blackmore. He currently live in Nashville, TN with his family.
He has spent a lifetime writing, speaking, teaching in roles as diverse as Episcopal priest, pastoral counselor, adjunct professor, Navy Chaplain, corporate trainer, community engagement leader, as well as in sales and marketing positions within Fortune 500 companies. Through the years, he has witnessed people struggle with a need to be perfect. Striving to "measure up," "be good enough," "deserve" their accomplishments has created a sense of shame in so many people. Bringing out the best in others and helping them become the person they already are in the eyes of God is central to his life's mission and essential for overcoming toxic shame.
