Dana Drew Shaw focuses her practice in sports and entertainment law and Title IX investigations and compliance.
Dana has worked with athletes, coaches, and administrators while also assisting sports-based organizations with strategic vision and planning. She has advised coaches and administrators on policy review, investigations, and training initiatives. Having lived and worked in Europe for over 11 years, she acquired extensive international experience in the sports world including negotiating and drafting contracts, advising a multinational company, and teaching legal concepts pertaining to sport at the University of Urbino (Italy) School of Law. Additionally, Dana served as an instructor for Northwestern University in the Master’s in Sports Administration Graduate Program teaching Legal and Ethical Issues in Sports Management, Globalization of Sport, and Practicum in Sports Administration and currently is teaching in the Sport Administration program at Belmont University. While in law school, Dana was a published member of the University of Toledo Law Review.
Dana was a student-athlete on the women’s basketball team at The University of Toledo. During her career, she helped lead UT to three NCAA appearances and three MAC regular-season and tournament championships as well as being named MAC Player of the Year twice and having her jersey retired.
Dana is also a Certified Mediator.
